Bicyclist critically injured after being hit by car in Westfield

WESTFIELD, Ind. — A woman was seriously injured Saturday evening after she was hit by a car while riding a bike in Westfield.

According to the Westfield Police Department, at 7:05 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Cora Drive and West 186th Street on the report of a personal injury crash involving a bicyclist and a vehicle.

Arriving officers found a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries, and she was given life-saving medical treatment at the scene.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and as of Sunday night, she is “critical but stable,” according to police.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that hit her remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The incident remains under investigation and police did not provide any further information.
